Heres a first song release that just blew me away. I had heard this bands name around in the music circle as having an early 2002 release and wondered what style they were offering, and guess what? It was a rock ballad sort of song, my fav! No Light crosses over into quite a few styles of music it just make the saliva run. Its fresh and has no equal, its so different from any song I can honestly say its a style of their own. Not to mention the video. How can anyone not appreciate the talent of the Metal Mulisha one of the premier freestyle moto-x groups. Songs like Cities Of Fire follow in the rock ballad style of No Light while songs like All Lies just plain down jam hardcore. This album finishes off with a cover off the Black Sabbath tune Paranoid. Want to hear one of the closest vocal covers of this song youll ever here? Give these guys a listen. I have to say pick this album up, and if need to cut the guys hand off beside you that picks up the last copy, its that good!

Heres a little lighter style of music than I normally go for, but Ive been missing stuff from Smashing Pumpkins so much then one day I hear the song The Remedy and just couldnt get over how much these guys sound like them down to the vocals. If you were to close your eyes and someone would tell you this is SP you wouldnt know any better. What I believe to be the second single from this album Mercy Kiss follows in the same footsteps but is has a little poppier sound to it. The album gets a little of track a few times with songs Start Over and Ruin Your Life, and then to some folk crap on song Never then comes back with a Bullet Like Butterfly Wings style song finish with Seed.
If youre a fan of SP you will probably like this album, if you dont you may still like it but Id have to say try your best to sample before you buy. This is a same may like it, some may not album.
Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Tommy Walter goes by the alias of Abandoned Pools. Growing up as the son of a former World War II bomber pilot for the Canadian Air Force, Walter picked up a bass guitar in grade school and was classically trained on the French horn shortly after high school. After attending South Cal University, Walter enrolled at the University of Pacific in Stockton, CA, where he studied and taught music theory (and such early 20th century, 12-tone and modal composers like Schoenberg, Bartók, and Stravinsky). But teaching didn't fulfill his desire to play rock music, as he sought other similar-minded musicians in the vast L.A. pop/rock scene. One evening at an open mic night at a Los Angeles club, Walter happened to meet another singer/songwriter, E, resulting in a partnership shortly thereafter. With drummer Butch Norton on board, the trio took the name the Eels and signed with DreamWorks Records. Despite moderate success with their debut album, 1996's Beautiful Freak, and a promising future ahead of them, Walter left the group by the time writing had begun on a sophomore effort. In Walter's own words, the reason for his departure was as follows: "Once you get a fancy tour bus and the crowds get bigger, everything goes to hell." Walter locked himself in his South Pasadena apartment and feverishly began writing and recording his own original material on his eight-track recording machine. Walter took the bare tracks to Boston's Q Division studio, where acclaimed alt-rock producers Paul Q. Koderie and Sean Slade helped beef up the tracks. Signing to the Extasy Records label, Walter's Abandoned Pools issued a debut album, Humanistic, in September of 2001.

Foo Manchu

One hit wonder. When I heard the hit Squash That Fly I instantly sprang to life trying to get my hands on their stuff. Man was I ever so disappointed. At first I thought they had a Qwerky Offspringish like style. Then as I listened deeper into the album I just couldnt keep listening I just lost any and all interest. Id have to say that if you ever were going to buy a single do it here. I just lost no love for this album.
Southern California's Fu Manchu began crafting heavy, psychedelic tinged rock in 1990 with their debut single "Kept Between Trees." Throughout the early '90s the group honed their sound on similarly intense singles, and released their debut album No One Rides For Free in 1994 on Bong Load Records. Daredevil, also on Bong Load, followed in 1995. The group switched to Mammoth Records for their 1996 album In Search Of; the next year, founding members Scott Hill (vocals, guitars) and Brad Davis (bass, vocals) added lead guitarist Bob Balch and former Kyuss drummer Brant Bjork to their lineup, and they released their second album for Mammoth, The Action Is Go. During this time the group gained a reputation as a powerful live act, supporting like-minded groups like the Melvins, Kyuss, White Zombie, Monster Magnet and Clutch in the States, and Corrosion of Conformity, the Hellacopters and Marilyn Manson in Europe. 1998 saw the release of Return To Earth, which collected their early singles, and the Eatin' Dust EP, which was released by Frank Kozik's Man's Ruin label. Fu Manchu released their fifth full-length album King Of The Road in early 2000.

What a way to start off! Godsmacks I Start Alone. This one alone is so damn good I almost buy the album for it. The list of great music just goes on and on. POD , System Of A Down, Drowning Pool, on and on. If you havent look this cd over and saw the artists on it, take a look. This artist collection on this album speaks for itself. This album contains a great mix of modern day hit makers with a lot of the songs not found on other albums. Then theres a Zombie/Ozzy collaboration you just got to have. Im not going to ramble on and on about how great this collection is. Just go buy it and trust me on this one. Youll be glad you listened to me for a change.

Headstrong

The first song on this album, All Of The Above kinda reminds me of a Cake wanna be.Thing's get a little better and more down to the rock side when you hit Inside Joke and song with a little bit of a Rage Against The Machine flair to it.Then we move on to the current hit Adriana which is a jammin' little tune. All in all I'm not real sure of the musical background of this bad because it seems they have no two songs with the same stylings. I did like the album although i wouldn't put it towards the top of my shopping list. I'd have to say go give this one a listen before you buy.
The Canadian modern rock outfit Headstrong plucked their rock & roll strut and punk rock snarls from the likes of 311, Stone Temple Pilots, and Helmet for something raw and potentially mainstream. Comprised of Matt Kinna (vocals), Jon Cohen (bass), Joel Krass (guitar), and Brian Mathews (drums), Headstrong intially began as BOMB 32 in their native London, Ontario, in the late '90s. They used the power and popularity of www.farmclub.com to spread their music and RCA took notice. First single "All of the Above" was quite successful and allowed Headstrong to perform on the Farmclub stage in Los Angeles during summer 2000. Two years later, they issued a self-titled debut.

Here's a album that just dissapointed the hell out of me. After such a big impressive debut with Faithless, I really expected to hear one hell of an album. I sat down eagerly with this one only to find myself reaching hard and fast for the track forward button, looking for something that had the power that Faithless had. There are a few descent mellow tunes on here like Only Hurts Awhile, and Used Up, but nothing that would make me buy this album. I would have to say stick to the single on this album.

Here is some impressive music. I was blown away with the fact there was such good music written just for a soundtrack. The first five cuts off of this album are all new and original. The help of Korn's Jonathan Davis doesn't hurt any either. The first tune with Wayne Static of Static X is titled Not meant For Me is a great way to start off. It's got that creepy feel you'd expect to be linked to a moive title Queen Of The Damned. Then we move into the song in my opinion which is the most impressive on the album, a song titled Forsaken by Disturbed singer David Dramen which is just off the hook. The album continues with hits by Chester Bennington singer for Linkin Park, Marylin Manson, and Orgy singer Jay Gordon. Then theres a few cuts thrown in that can be found on other albums of popular artists Papa Roach,Static X, Deftones, and Disturbed. Then theres a few cuts by unheard of bands that finish up the album that are good like Earshot, and Tricky. Then a big sendoff By a band named Dry Cell which has to be the closet thing i've heard to a Linkin Park sound yet, with a greta tune called Body Crumbles. I loved this album and cant say enough. What a great mix of music to blow a few bucks on. Go snatch this one up!

Apex Theory

Dissapointed doesnt even start to tell the story of this album. I grew to love the catchy pops and beats of SHHHH...Hope Diggety the first release from this band. I listened to this and wondered if this album wasnt rushed to be recorded to back that hit debut to sell albums. I thought the whole first half half other than SHHHH was a piece of SHHHH. The second half tries to make a redeaming blow for Apex Theory but continues just to miss out on the catchyness and shear power of the debut. I just couldn't beleive this was the same band. There is an ep of the band which contains SHHH..Hope Diggety if you like the song pick it up and skip the album.
